Three days after allegedly stealing $900 worth of alcohol from Sonoma Market, two women returned Thursday on another shoplifting spree but were busted when store personnel recognized them from security video of the previous heist.

After putting a bottle of booze in her purse, Marie Ann Cannon, 39, of Antioch, ran from the store but was soon apprehended and cited for theft. The woman with her, Barbara Jackson, 47, also of Antioch, was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and misuse of a disabled placard.

Two males accompanying the suspects were released without charges.

The original crime was noted on October 7, when store management discovered a large amount of wine and liquor was missing from the inventory. Store security personnel then reviewed security video from the previous several days.

Video footage from October 5 showed that three females entered the store, went directly to the alcohol aisle, placed numerous bottles of alcohol in their personal bags/purses, and then left the store without paying for them. Store security provided the investigating deputy with photographs of the suspects.

Cannon used the same purse when she returned yesterday for another go at the liquor shelf.

Additional charges may be filed pending the investigation related to October 5 theft.
