Beltane Ranch, a Glen Ellen-based working ranch, bed & breakfast, special event space, and wine producer known for its Sauvignon Blanc, is seeking permission from the Sonoma Valley Citizens Advisory Commission (SVCAC) to build a winery.
Currently, Beltane Ranch produces their wine off-site, with 25 acres of vineyards producing Sauv Blanc and Zinfandel located on the ranch property.
Their wine is distributed online and at select retailers and restaurants.
Beltane Ranch offers private events, including weddings and fundraisers, including a fundraiser for Supervisor Susan Gorin in June of 2015.
On March 23, the SVCAC will review a proposal from Beltane Ranch to (1) create a 15,000 case on-site winery; (2) offer agricultural tours of the ranch; (3) offer wine tastings by appointment; and (4) to host 20 events annually that are agricultural themed.
According to Beltane Ranch, the new proposal won’t involve new construction or the removal of current trees, plantings or pastures. They plan on re-purposing the barn located onsite for the purpose of the winery.
The meeting is March 23, 6:30 PM, at the Sonoma Police Department, 177 1st St. W., Sonoma. Contact Pat Gilraldi, District Director to Supervisor Susan Gorin, for more information at [email protected].

Hi There,
Thanks so much for covering our project. Please note that rather than “building” a new winery, we are simply re-establishing winemaking inside of our historic barn. Beltane Ranch is currently a bonded winery and winemaking began on our property in the 1880’s.
Thanks again,
Lauren
