The City of Sonoma does not put on, sponsor or fund, in any way, the Sonoma fireworks display. It is put on by the Sonoma Volunteer Firefighters’ Association and funds are raised solely by donations from residents. The incorrect belief that the City, or Community Center or Visitors Bureau put on or sponsor the fireworks has been an obstacle to fundraising.
