Sonoma Plaza becomes the world’s coolest valet parking lot on Saturday night, June 3, for the Historic Race Car Festival. After a day at Sonoma Raceway, a select group of 30 historic cars depart the track under a full CHP escort and head to downtown Sonoma and a ceremonial lap around the Square.

RollsThe vintage rides then park in the Plaza Horseshoe for food, wine and viewing – a fundraiser for Speedway Children’s Charities.

The evening will feature samplings from a variety of local restaurants including Della Santina’s, Maya, The Red Grape, Mary’s Pizza Shack, Jolly Pig BBQ, Ramekins, La Casa, Bert’s Desserts and The Reel Fish Shop and Grill.

Nearly 10 local wineries and breweries, including Cline Cellars, Eric Ross Winery, Foyt Wines, Highway 12 Winery, Jacuzzi Family Vineyards, Viansa Winery, Carneros Brewing Company, BR Cohn Winery and Napa Smith Brewery will complement the food with tastings.

The parade of cars will motor along Highway 121 and Highway 12 before arriving at the Plaza. They will park in front of Sonoma City Hall on display for guests to enjoy. Attendees can also vote for their favorite car in two different categories: Best Local Historic Car and Featured Historic Race Car.

5:30-7:30 p.m. $30 advance, $35 door. The event is part of a weekend of vintage car racing and displays at Sonoma Raceway, June 2-4. Sonomaraceway.com.
