The decorative arts of ‘Dia’

Dia Sonoma, a month-long celebration of Latino culture, features arts and education events throughout Sonoma including an interactive workshop on making Toy Coffins on Saturday afternoon, October 26.

2 -4 p.m. Art Escape, 17474 Highway 12

Build an interactive coffin that is a traditional Mexican Day of the Dead toy, using recycled materials, clay, string and decorative paper to create a coffin with a head that pops up when you pull the string.

This workshop is the fourth in a series of five cultural artistic workshops leading up DIA SONOMA, Sonoma’s city-wide celebration of Dia de los Muertos on Saturday, November 2 from 12:00 – 6:30pm.
