The Sonoma County Health Officer has updated C-19 rules to allow, as of 12:01 a.m. on Friday, the reopening of businesses including fitness centers, movie theatres, entertainment centers, casinos, galleries, hotels and short-term rentals, campgrounds, schools and school-based programs, and personal care services.
The 32-page amendment follows the Governor’s re-opening plan for the state while stressing the “clear and present danger” of continued transmission.
It does not at all change social-distancing, face mask and other safety rules, and comes with several warnings.
“(Though) the state has opened the door to resumption of a wide range of businesses, it would be a mistake if this was seen as a return to normal,” declared the statement. “The virus is not contained.”
Health officials warn that this is especially true for indoor activities, when individuals are at close quarters, interacting with greater numbers of people. “The evidence shows that a significant percentage of virus transmission is from people who are asymptomatic or have very mild symptoms. Health screenings may not detect these individuals”.
