Squares of fabric decorated by community members during vaccine clinics comprise the Fabric of Gratitude art exhibition, through May 26 at the Sonoma Community Center.
Sonoma Valley Community Health Center (SVCHC) collected the hand-drawn squares during its vaccine clinics. Community members were prompted by the question, Why were you vaccinated?
The results are hung in the Center’s Causeway Gallery. The exhibition recognizes the magnitude of the vaccine community effort; SVHC itself has administered 30,000 vaccine shots.
A special Closing Event will be held May 26 from 5-7 p.m. in the Center’s Secret Garden. All of Sonoma Community Health Center’s health community partners, first responders, and frontline workers are invited to come and say a few words about their experience working with the community during the pandemic. Community members will be provided with fabric squares and fabric pens so that they can create their own fabric of gratitude.
Sonoma Valley Community Center is located at 276 E. Napa St.
The mission of the Sonoma Valley Community Health Center is to provide accessible health care to those who need it, especially the underserved.
