Winter Celebration in the Springs

Posted on December 7, 2022 by Sonoma Valley Sun

Springs Winter Celebration 2022 comes to Boyes Hot Springs on Sunday, December 18, with cookies and cocoa — and Santa! — from 2 to 4pm. The outdoor setting is 22 Boyes Blvd. in parking lot next to the former Church  Mouse space..

“We are excited to offer this event as many of us want to gather once again and share joy of the season with one another, said Maite Iturri, chair of the Springs Municipal Advisory Council, which is hosting the event. “It celebrates the holiday season and the diversity and beauty of our community,”

Attendees will have the opportunity to snap a picture with Santa Claus, who will be arriving via Sonoma Valley Fire Engine from the Agua Caliente Substation, as Santa’s reindeer will be resting up for their big night on the 24th.

Cookies, hot chocolate, coffee, and water will be provided by the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn,  and giveaways will be available for the first 100 attendees. Members of the Springs MAC and  Sonoma Immigrant Services will be there to receive community ideas, answer questions, and join the community in celebrating the season.

“Credit and thanks are due to the Springs MAC members who took the leadership to make this community event happen,” said Sonoma County Supervisor Susan Gorin, who established the Springs MAC in 2019.

Attendees are encouraged to walk, ride a bike, or carpool to this event. Parking will be available  at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn employee parking lot on Bonita Way off Vallejo Avenue.  This event will take place rain or shine.

The Springs Winter Celebration will take place with the backdrop of the Boyes Boulevard Highway 12 fence which has been adorned with festive decorations. The  holiday decorations are supplied through a partnership between the Springs MAC and Art  Escape. With this year marking the first Winter Celebration, Supervisor Gorin and the Springs  MAC members hope to continue to build on these successful community events to foster  community connectedness and forge a sense of belonging.

The Springs Municipal Advisory  Council represents the people of the Springs in Sonoma Valley as the voice of the community to  elected representatives.
