Are you ready to wig out? Cancer Support Sonoma is, with its major fundraising event WigOut Sonoma! on September 14 at Abbot’s Passage Winery & Mercantile in Glen Ellen.

The event is lighthearted but the cause is quite serious.

Cancer Support Sonoma is Sonoma Valley’s only clinic providing integrative therapies that ease the physical, mental, and emotional effects of cancer treatment,” said the organization’s board president Scott Murray. “WigOut Sonoma! has become a powerful platform for sustaining these life-enhancing services in the Sonoma Valley.”

“We firmly believe that all members of our community facing cancer should have local access to the therapies they need from diagnosis, through treatment, recovery, or entering end-of-life,” Murray continued. “The funds raised during this event will enable Cancer Support Sonoma to continue providing these essential services, regardless of financial means.”

The setting for “an unforgettable evening of camaraderie and support” is Abbot’s Passage Winery & Mercantile, in Glen Ellen on Madrone Road. Dinner will be catered by Goodness Gracious Catering, the primary sponsor for this year’s event.

The evening will also feature appetizers from Bryan Jones Catering and desserts from Flour & Bloom Cakes. Guests can participate in both a silent auction and a live auction, offering an exciting opportunity to bid on an array of unique and coveted items and experiences from Auberge Stanly Ranch, MacArthur Place Hotel & Spa, and many others.

Local favorite Sean Carscadden provides the music.

“Don a wig, alter your ego and have fun as we party with a purpose to support those who have had a cancer diagnosis and need the healing therapies of Cancer Support Sonoma practitioners,” said Bonnie Joy Kaslan, Cancer Support Sonoma outreach ambassador and client.  “Join us so that all who need our support and services receive them.  No one should be left out.”

The event begins at 5:30pm. Tickets are $150 each here.
