The Gypsy Jazz sound of Django Reinhardt is celebrated with One Night in Paris, a live concert with the band Le Jazz Hot, on Friday, December 8.
The 7:30pm show takes place under the Cirque de Bohème circus tent at Cornerstone.
The ensemble echoes Paris of the 20s and 30s, when guitarist Django Reinhardt, and Stephane Grappelli on violin, set the style at the red-hot Hot Club de France.
The group borrows the all-string instrumentation of violin, bass and guitars from the original Hot Club, but works in innovative arrangements of classic tunes, and original compositions from the group’s lead guitarist Paul Mehling.
