Sun on the Street: What’s your post-pandemic move?

What are you looking forward to when the pandemic is over? And what habit will you continue?

James Quinn

The first thing I’ll do after the pandemic is over is probably go to the movie theatre like I did when I was a little kid with my dad, because it’s really sentimental to me. I’ve been working on my photography a lot more –  working on the craft more – since there was more time for it. I’ll continue doing that.

When the pandemic is over, and I’ve been vaccinated, I will definitely go out on a food tour with my friends, and go to the beach. I look forward to traveling. I can’t wait for when I don’t need to worry about social distancing. Hopefully, I’ll be able to go to some concerts in the near future. I started making To-Do lists on a small whiteboard to keep track of chores, homework, reminders, etc. and it’s been really helpful. I also started reading more in my free time, and I want to continue to do that and add more to my book list.

After the pandemic is over, I’ll probably go to clubs, go to a live concert, maybe take my daughter to an amusement park. I’ve been washing my hands more and I think I’ll continue that. I’m more into that than the hand sanitizer.

Georgia Kelly

I look forward to meeting friends in local restaurants and cafes for long talks. Also, I’ll bring a group to study at the Mondragón Cooperatives in Spain – these annual trips were canceled in 2020 and 2021. I drove less during the pandemic and I will continue that. I have been going three to four months on one tank of gas for my Prius. I will also continue with Zoom events. Even [Praxis Peace Institute] conferences will include Zoom presentations along with in-person ones.

Alegria Silvi

I look forward to attending a swim meet with other teams and getting official times because we have not had the opportunity to do that for over a year. I would also like to see my grandparents in the Philippines again, and lastly, I want to be able to hug people I haven’t been able to hug during the pandemic. But I did begin improvising on the piano and writing more songs. I also found myself counseling friends and providing emotional support. I would love to continue doing those things.
