Saturday, September 17: Coastal Cleanup Day
Now worldwide, this yearly event started in California as a statewide push to keep beaches free from debris. Since then, it’s grown to include inland areas, like Sonoma, since so much of the garbage that ends up in the ocean begins its journey in creeks and rivers.
Be part of a volunteer brigade at Nathanson Creek Preserve, 10 a.m. to noon, or Larson Park, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sonomaecologycenter.org
