Work is stepping up on the Chase Street Bridge Replacement Project in Sonoma, as crews have poured a total of 171 cubic yards of concrete for the foundation and footings of the new bridge.
To complete the project before rainy weather arrives, crews will now work on Saturdays,in addition to the regular Monday to Friday schedule. Saturday work hours will be between 9am and 6pm.
Traffic remains closed in both directions on Chase, between Broadway and Austin.
The old structure over Nathanson Creek was deemed too old to be repaired. Once complete, the new bridge will be a single span 53′ wide, 30′ long concrete bridge with 12′ high abutments. There will be two vehicle lanes, with shoulders and sidewalks on both sides of the lanes.
The City said workers “will continue to prioritize safety, efficient execution, and clear communication to keep all stakeholders informed and engaged throughout this process.”
