Sonoma City Mayor Pro Tem Joanne Sanders made her debut on the greater Bay Area stage last week by taking oath as the newest member of the Board of Directors of the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway, and Transportation District. It was the first order of business for the board, meeting in the administration building at the Golden Gaste Bridge toll plaza on Friday, Aug. 24.
As a portion of her oath, Sanders swore, “I take this obligation freely without any mental reservation and that I will well and faithfully charge the duty upon which I am about to take.”
Regarding the Golden Gate Bridge, its directors and the task set forth before her, Sanders acknowledged the honor she possesses in being with a group in charge of its stewardship. “Let’s have some fun!” she said.
