The Sonoma City Council is holding a special meeting on Monday, Sept. 10, to consider making changes to the funding allocations adopted earlier for local non-profits that provide services to city residents.
“Council members [Steve] Barbose and [Joanne] Sanders had requested that we revisit the funding question for non-profits,” said council member Ken Brown. “It’s my feeling that the money has been allocated properly for both Tier 1 and Tier 2 organizations. If they are serious about increasing the funding for Tier 1, they can take it out of the reserve fund.”
Expecting a large turnout, city staff has confirmed the meeting will be held at the Community Center, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be carried live on SVTV27.
