Gabriella Villasenor has tried her hand at a variety of jobs and in a variety of sectors in Sonoma Valley, all of them linked with a common thread: customer service.
Starting in the 1980s, she found work as a cosmetologist at several local beauty salons before deciding to try a new field: banking.
Hired as a teller at Wells Fargo Bank, Villasenor found banking a good fit with her interests and work ethic. In less than a year, she earned a promotion to manager. She stayed with Wells Fargo for the next 11 years, moving up the corporate ladder as she moved among different branches.
With a solid background in financing under her belt, Villasenor made one more career move, this time into mortgage banking. She became a loan officer at Preferred Mortgage Associate, a position she has held for the past four years.
She enjoys giving her customers detailed information and explaining to them what terms are the most suitable for them (and what terms are not so suitable).
“It gives me a great satisfaction to serve people,” she said.
She finds many rewards beyond simply earning a living.
One of her goals in changing fields was to be able to spend more time with her family – husband Horacio Villase, a manager with Banco de Sonoma, and their two children, Alan and Alexandra Villase.
“What I like the most about this job, is that it allows me to have a flexible schedule and I can spend more time with my kids,” said Villasenor. In addition to the benefit of having a flexible schedule, she enjoys the fact that her job is very independent; she basically sets her own schedule.
Villasenor enjoys helping people so much, in fact, that she says her motto is “customer service.”
If you would like to contact Gabriela Villaseñor, you can find her on 546 Broadway in Sonoma, or call 707.931.7100, ext. 14.
