General Vallejo’s great, great grandson will be performing this weekend at the Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival.
Actually, Albert Vallejo Jr. was not expected to be on hand until the unexpected absence of a member of the Suburbans, who are performing at the Sebastiani Theater Saturday night, led to the group tapping Vallejo to fill in.
Vallejo, who is a comedian and lives in Contra Costa County has twice performed on Comedy Central and won Ed McMahon’s “Next Big Star” competition when reality television was just getting underway. He has headlined in clubs across the country and frequently performs in Reno and Las Vegas. He will be joining the Surburbans in two performances.
“When I called Albert and jokingly asked him if he found any irony in playing a town that was settled by General Vallejo,” said the show’s producer, Matt Dockstader. “I was flabbergasted when I learned he is the great, great grandson of General Vallejo. This should make a great show even better.”
