Two Amigos and the GlenLyon Winery tasting room, located in Vine Alley in downtown Sonoma, will be closing to focus on exclusive winery tours and their wine club in the near future.
The tasting room was put on the market this week, available for $165,000 for the key and with rent starting at $1,507 a month.
Michelle Vinay, Tasting Room Manager, assured us that nothing will change – that Two Amigos and GlenLyon will continue to offer quirky wine tasting experiences, just in a private and exclusive manner.
The two wineries have been offering private winery tours for years, and have seen an increase in demand for these “unique and unforgettable private winery tours,” according to Vinay.
“We’ll be focusing on catering to our clientele that have a deeper appreciation for small lot boutique wines while better utilizing the winery property and making our wines solely available to our wine club members,” shared Vinay, who also stated that the wine club now has a wait list just to join it.
The tasting room has been home to both wineries for many years. GlenLyon Winery was launched by comedian Squire Fridell and dancer Suzy Fridell. The couple offers small lot wines from their Sonoma Valley vineyard, including sparkling wine for their equally talented daughter, Lexy Fridell, whom you have most likely seen perform at Broadway Under the Stars.
Out of GlenLyon formed Two Amigos, a fun and funky label started by Squire Fridell and his long-time friend Bob Briner. The tasting room is known for its eccentric flair, funky labels, and rubber chickens.
It has yet to be determined when the tasting room will close. Interested buyers/renters can contact Cushman & Wakefield’s Ryan Snow at ryan.snow@cushwake.com.
Visit the tasting room, and enjoy their newly released Mistelle aperitif and one of my favorite sparkling wines on the market – Lexy’s Toast rose. Oh, and say hi to Mulligan. 25 E. Napa St., Suite D, Sonoma | 799-7146 | twoamigoswines.com | glenlyonwinery.com
Nobody closes a tasting room that is making money. Could it be that the tasting room bubble is bursting? Muchas gracias, Dos Amigos.
Unless you’re TWO Amigos and not Dos Amigos 😉
