New ‘2’ you

Something new is brewing for Heidi Stearn, who a year ago sold her JOE-2-GO coffee bar that had been a fixture at Freidman’s. Stearn has embarked on a new endeavor with GO-2-GAL concierge services.

“I knew it was time,” she said of starting GO-2-GAL, which offers concierge services, business and personal family assistance as well as household management. “I’m a hands-on, take charge, multi-task type of person, and I’ve found another great niche for my skills.”

Stearn came to Sonoma after spending about 15 years as a business manager and personal assistant in the entertainment industry. In 2009, “I was at a crossroads in my life and I said to myself, I’ve got to do something different.”

In need of a change, she came to Sonoma on a visit and immediately saw the opportunities. “Most of all, I was drawn to the beauty of this Valley. Sonoma is a paradise.”A chance meeting with local chef Cody Williams, who at the time owned a coffee cart at Sonoma Valley Hospital, lead Stearn to starting her kiosk at Friedmans. It was topped The Sun Readers poll for Best of Cup of Coffee four times. Now she brings that enthusiasm — and famous good-morning smile – to meeting the varied needs of clients, one on one.

“Heidi has a very strong vision,” said her friend Heidi Geffen, owner of Plaza retailer Tiddle E. Winks. “She can take on any challenge and face any obstacle.”

That attitude is important as a concierge, where the nature of the business is a demanding customer. “I can manage that,” Stearn said with a smile. When other people see obstacles and road-blocks, I see wheels turning. It is all about networking, connecting with people, and relationship building.”

Geffen said Stearn is such a good ambassador of good will that she could “very easily become mayor of Sonoma and do a good job at it. She’s definitely that ‘go-to’ kind of person.”
