Two health talks from Sonoma Valley Hospital

The hospital has two conversations on timely health topics coming up in September.

AlvinBannerjeeOn Thursday, September 20, the  “Conversation With A Doctor” Series welcomes podiatrist Dr. Alvin Bannerjee, DPM, AACFAS, who will discuss common foot and ankle problems. From noon to 1 p.m. in the hospital’s basement conference room, Dr. Bannerjee will address foot health,  including keeping feet and ankles healthy during exercise, and common foot ailments such as sprains, tendinitis, bunions, arthritis, and soreness. The talk is free, but space is limited.

 

 

Next up is “Why Sleep Matters,” the topic of the monthly GirlTalk series, on Friday, September 21. Patricia Brooks, LCSW, PhD, will discussing the stages of sleep, identifying everyday practices that can promote (or disrupt) sleep. She will also include a mindful meditation movement demonstration.

The event will be held at Ramekin’s, 450 W. Spain St., 6 to 7:30 p.m. There is a $10 donation at the door to cover light refreshments and beverages.
