During a Nov. 8 interview on KSVY 91.3 Sonoma’s morning show, newly elected city councilman August Sebastiani suggested bringing back a Christmas nativity scene to the horseshoe-shaped lawn on the Plaza in front of Sonoma’s City Hall.
Sebastiani made that suggestion on the day after the election during an interview with host Michael J. Kelly and guest host Sam DiGiacomo.
“Everyone gets sworn in on December 6, I believe … so is there something first on your agenda?” DiGiacomo asked.
“Yeah, one thing we were talking about last night – I would imagine that December 6 is a little late to start the process – but it’s definitely something that I’d like to see done for next year is I’d like to see a nativity scene back on the Plaza, back at the horseshoe, for Christmas. I think that might be nice,” Sebastiani said. “Now that the votes are counted, it’s open season, here.”
Kelly joked, “OK, so the first thing you want to do is get church and state back together again. OK.” – drawing laughter from all three men.
Sebastiani could not be reached at press time to elaborate on the idea.
