The Sonoma Valley Health Care Coalition expects to make its recommendation on March 14 to the Sonoma Valley Health Care District Board about how to proceed with a proposal for a new hospital in the Sonoma Valley.
“We hope that’s going to be a pretty firm date,” said Bob Edwards, co-chair of coalition’s 18-member steering committee. “We had to kind of amend our calendar.”
The coalition’s recommendation originally was due in late January, but the coalition is delaying its recommendation due to such things as continued tweaks to hospital proposals from Cirrus Health and from proponents of an in-town hospital proposal, Edwards said.
The coalition also is planning to conduct surveys between now and mid-March.
“We want to do a scientific survey and get a feel for where the voters are on this,” Edwards said.
The coalition has been meeting for months to try to come up with a proposal that will get approval from voters within the hospital district.
At its 7 p.m. meeting Monday at the Vintage House senior center, the coalition will discuss the idea of a healthcare network to be part of whatever hospital gets approved.
