The Nelson Family of Companies, which provides workforce management and staffing services, announced the addition of Steve Furtado and Lydia Wilson to its management team.
Steve Furtado was hired as chief financial officer. Previously, Furtado worked at Apple Computer, Birkenstock and Lemo.
Lydia Wilson joins as vice president of business development and implementation for WorkforceLogic, a key Nelson division. Wilson will be responsible for business development both domestically and globally. Most recently, she worked at Remedy Staffing.
Both executives will assist in the strategic plan to position Nelson for continued growth in its goal of offering world-class products and services in workforce management.
Founded in 1970 by chairman and CEO Gary Nelson, the company is headquartered in Sonoma and is the 64th-largest staffing company in the United States.

For the fifth consecutive year Nelson Family of Companies, announces significant growth. For 2006, the international provider of workforce management and staffing services, announced record revenues of $377 million, a 30 percent increase over the previous year. The company attributes this growth to the success of its dual strategy to provide market leading staffing services in northern California while simultaneously developing global workforce management software and services for companies with large contingent workforces.

Horizon Air
begins Sonoma County flights
Sonoma residents now have direct links to two of the West Coast’s busiest airline hubs, as Horizon Air has officially begun regularly scheduled flights from Santa Rosa. Daily round-trip service from the Charles Schultz Airport to Los Angeles and Seattle has commenced as planned with two daily round trips to Los Angeles and one to Seattle.
