Jack London event raises over $90,000

This year’s Muse dinner and auction event, an annual fundraiser for the Sonoma Community Center, raised over $90,000 for arts and cultural programming at the Center. This year’s honoree was lauded local scribe Jack London, author of such books as “Call of the Wild” and “White Fang.” The evening was the most successful fundraiser in the Center’s history.

Hosted by Darius and Sarah Anderson at their stately Kenwood barn, the sold out crowd of over 100 people dined on comestibles created by local caterer Olive & Vine. Other highlights included live music performed by folk musicians Whiskey and Rye and sword swallowing and fire-eating by Tobias Weinberger. Actor Mike Wilson made a cameo as London himself.

A live auction, featuring trips to locales such as Alaska, Montana, Mexico, and Hawaii, ended with two bidders winning a trip to Cuba.
