The Sonoma County Water Agency at 11 AM today will hold a media conference in Santa Rosa to announce the release of a revised order by the State Water Resources Control Board that requires the agency to implement a 15 percent reduction in water diversions from the Russian River to its service area effective July 1.
The agency will call for the immediate implementation of mandatory water conservation measures by its water contractors, customers along with the business and agricultural community.
The county water agency uses a pipeline to supply most of the raw water to the city of Sonoma and the Valley of the Moon Water District that they, in turn, treat and distribute to residential and business customers in the Sonoma Valley.
