Vandal Scandal

Somebody flunked Ethics Class, it seems. Vandals have defaced Sonoma Charter School yet again. If Principal Nora Flood has anything to say about it, the destructive trespassers have had their way with the sprawling campus at 17202 Sonoma Highway for the last time. Rotating security cameras with 180 degree scanning capacity will be installed in hidden locations to stem the flow of cyclical vandalism.

The campus is unlocked on weekends, and locals are encouraged to use its courts and soon-to-be installed state of the art playground. Unfortunately, some visitors aren’t content with the amenities, and have left behind broken windows, walls tagged with obscenities, lewd drawings, and gang graffiti, and broken picnic tables. The damage runs into the thousands every year.

Installation of the expensive new security cameras was covered in part by community donation, and volunteers will help oversee their function.
