Luis Roberto Miranda,
17, died Oct. 22, 2007, in Sonoma. Born in San Francisco on May 6, 1990, and raised in San Rafael and Sonoma (Boyes Hot Springs), Luis graduated from St. Francis Solano School and previously attended Sonoma Valley High School. He was an accomplished soccer player who was also a popular student and a loyal friend. Luis is survived by his parents, Oralia and Roberto Miranda, and his loving extended family and many friends.
A vigil service was held on Sunday, October 28, 2007 at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Sonoma, a funeral Mass was celebrated in his honor on October 29, 2007, also at St. Leo’s Catholic Church. A private inurnment has been selected for the final disposition. The cremation was performed by Mission Cremation Service, under the direction of Duggan’s Mission Chapel. Memorial donations in Luis’ honor can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Helen Marie Lennon
was born in Sonoma on October 27, 1917, to Nib and Jeannette Maffei. She lived her entire life in Sonoma and passed away peacefully, surrounded by her devoted family, on Saturday, Oct. 20, one week before her 90th birthday.
Helen married Joseph John Lennon on October 28, 1939, and they had three children. She is survived by her son, Ron Lennon, of Sonoma, and his wife Michelle; by her daughters Lynn Chevalier, of Ukiah, and her husband Peter; Joan Montgomery, of Brookings, OR, and her husband Russ; her brother Bill Maffei, of Sonoma, and his wife Francine; by her sister, Donna Smith, of Coos Bay, OR and her husband Ed; and by Sandy Lennon, and her caregiver and friend, Mirise Cati. Helen has seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, her brother, Art Maffei, and her grandson, Nicolas Chevalier.
“Grandma Helen,” as she was known to her family, will truly be missed.

Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass in celebration of her life at St. Francis Solano Church, Third and West Napa Streets, Sonoma, on Friday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m. Interment following at Mountain Cemetery, Sonoma.
