Registration is open for Santa Rosa Junior College computer classes that will be held at Sonoma Valley High School for the spring 2008 semester. Both Windows and Macintosh users will be supported in the new Intel iMac lab in Room J6.
Classes offered include:
CIS 105A: Introduction to Macintosh, Section 7825. This class covers the basics of Macintosh computer operation, simple word processing and spreadsheet development with Microsoft Office for Mac; Web browsing with Safari; and iPhoto for organizing photographs. Class runs Monday Jan. 14 through Mar. 17, from 5 to 7 p.m., with a two-hour optional lab from 7 to 9 p.m. For more information contact instructor Windsor Green at wgreen@santarosa.edu.
CIS 105B: More Mac Intro, section 7826. This class follows the above class and runs from Mar. 31 to May 19. Students continue to explore application software, including document formatting, mail merge, rudimentary desktop publishing, spreadsheet charts, database management and integration between applications.
CIS 73.21: Adobe Photoshop 1, Section 7824. Beginning image production and manipulation, using the industry-standard Adobe Photoshop to work with digital images for both Web and print use. Classes will be held Wednesdays, Jan. 16 through May 14, 6 to 8 p.m., with optional labs from 5 to 6 p.m. and 8 to 9 p.m. For more information contact instructor Barbara Heiman at bheiman@santarosa.edu.
