Obituaries

Blanche Clark, 88, of Sonoma, died Jan. 22, 2008 in Modesto. She was the former wife of the late Vernon Clark and the loving mother of Jerry Clark, Deloris Ott, Fay Barker, Glenda Hackett, Elaine, Michael and Kevin Clark. Blanche was the idolized grandmother of Jerry V. Clark, Pam Peterson, David Ott, Rick Ott, Ginny Montarbo, Jeffery, Michael, Billy and Gary Barker, Shon Hackett, Dean Hackett, Michelle Clark, Christopher Caprile, Christine, Kimberly and Kevin Clark, Alesha and 12 great grandchildren.
Blanche was an employee of the telephone company for 20 years. She was a member of the Craig Avenue Baptist Church, a resident of Sonoma for 14 years and a native of Puxico, Missouri.
Friends are invited to attend graveside services on Friday, Jan. 25 at 1 p.m. at Valley Cemetery, 425 E. MacArthur St., Sonoma. Arrangements under the direction of Duggan’s Mission Chapel, 525 W. Napa St., Sonoma.

Marian Ruth Cox, of Sonoma, died Jan. 30, 2008. Her husband of 58 years, Mayro C. Cox, son Larry C. Cox and sister Charlene Anderson of Denver preceded her in death. Born July 28, 1920 in Denver, Marian lived in Sonoma for the last 40 years.
Marian was on the board of directors of the Church Mouse and volunteered at the shops, where she decorated the windows and coordinated the jewelry department. She was a member of the Mission Belles bowling team and was a state champion in 1984. Other interests were travel, gardening, crossword puzzles and crocheting afghans. She also had a sweet tooth.
Marian is survived by her sister, Hope Fisher of Denver, and sons Richard Cox of Denver and Michael Cox of Sonoma. She is the beloved grandmother of Sandra Ackerman, Stephanie Skiptunis, Michale Cox and Larry Cox. She is the beloved great grandmother of Timothy, Jessee and Kristopher Ackerman; Brandy and Selena Cox; and Alexander and Lauren Cox of Sonoma.
Services will be held at Ft. Logan National Cemetery in Denver. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Sonoma Veterans Memorial Park Association, P.O. Box 153, El Verano, CA 95433 would be appreciated. Local arrangements under the direction of Duggan’s Mission Chapel, 525 W. Napa St., Sonoma.

Kathryn M. King, 92, died Jan. 30, 2008 at her daughter’s residence in Sonoma. She was the mother of Paul King of San Diego and June King of Sonoma. Kay was the dear sister of Bill Meck of Napa and Victor Meck of Encino, grandmother of Kimberly Cleveland of Denver and great grandmother of Joey and Paul Cleveland.
Kay was a real estate broker in Rancho Mirage for many years. She was a volunteer with the Eisenhower Medical Center Auxiliary in Palm Desert and a volunteer with Sonoma Valley Hospital Auxiliary for several years. Kay was an avid bridge player. She was a 16-year resident of Sonoma and a native of Cleveland, Ohio. No formal services will be held. Private inurnment at Oakwood Memorial Park, Chatsworth, Calif. Donations to F.I.S.H or Hospice by the Bay are preferred by the family.
