The Sweetheart Auction and Gala netted some $195,000 on Feb. 9 for the benefit of the Boys & Girls Club Sonoma Valley.
“The Sweetheart Auction is our largest fundraiser of the year; it’s 16 percent of our nearly 1.2 million-dollar operating budget,” said the club’s executive director, Dave Pier.
“Since the Club receives no funding from the national organization, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and we are funded entirely by individual donors, local businessesas well as public and private grants, the Sweetheart Auction is very important to the daily operations of the Club. We are thrilled that we exceeded our fundraising budget for this event, thanks especially to the many community members that support the Club and the Sweetheart Auction year after year,” Pier said.
