Woodland Star’s fundraiser a “star-studded” event

Hollywood was the theme at Woodland Star Charter School’s fundraising auction and dinner. More than 250 guests gathered at Cline Cellars Saturday for a feast catered by Broadway Catering.
Entertainment was provided by multimedia presentations and themed skits put on by members of WOW, the Women of Waldorf. Emcee Rick Love got into the act by playing James Bond.
For dancing after dinner, Tudo Bem performed in the winery’s barrel room. At press time, the total amount of funds raised was still being tabulated.
The biggest auction lot, an antique Baby Grand Piano designed by the famous Viennese piano master J. Wolpaterny and valued at $12,000, is still looking for a home. Woodland Star Charter School still intends to share the proceeds from its eventual purchase price with all seven elementary schools in Sonoma.
