Film Fest will offer childcare

While the grown-ups attend movie premieres and other events at the Sonoma Valley Film Festival April 9-13, the kids can enjoy a movie-magic adventure of their own at the Festival’s new childcare program, “Kid Zone!”
For $8 per hour, the “Kid Zone!” child care program of movies, karaoke, games, arts and crafts, and many more fun activities await children ages two to five and six to thirteen, with different rooms set up for different age groups.
“Kid Zone!” Film Festival child care will be conveniently located right in the heart of the Festival Village around the town plaza, at Sonoma Academy of Dance & Arts, 180 E. Napa St.
“Saturday and Sunday will be Movie Magic Days,” said Sarah Duran of Sonoma Academy of Dance & Arts, “where children will be guided from the beginning process of creating a short story to using story boards, directing, producing, editing and acting in a short film. At the end of the day, kids will take home the film they created. Watch out, Steven Spielberg!”
