Obituary

Jane Blasi, 93, died in Sonoma on March 13, 2008. When it came to being a true pure-blood Italian woman who was a stalwart and loyal defender of her Marche family, “Aunt Jane” was short of stature, but always stood tall with strength and pride when it came to any of her close relatives.
Gina “Aunt Jane” Parmigiani Blasi was born on July 28, 1914, in the Italian community of Iron River, Mich., after her parents and older sister Maria (Mary) emigrated from the Marche region of Italy.
Jane moved to San Francisco, where she worked various jobs and lived for more than 30 years. She married the love of her life, Armando “Mondo” Blasi and they moved to Sonoma in 1969. Jane started Il Desinare Catering with her niece, Phyllis Serafini, an endeavor of love that lasted over 20 years.
Jane was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mondo; parents, Sabatino and Giuditta Parmigiani; sister, Mary, and brother-in-law, Costantino Zepponi; nephew, Gino Zepponi; nephew-in-law, Aldo Serafini; and in-laws, Silvia and George Figone.
Though they never had children, we all were their children. From her niece, Phyllis, and her niece-in-law, Barbara, to all their children, her great nephews and nieces: Steven, David, Gerard, Linda, Liann, Michael, David, Daniel, Peter, Joanne, Raymond, Ralph and Teresa; to all her great-great nieces and nephews: Azure, Sola, Zoerima, David, Mario, Giordi, Max, Preston, Tara, Davis, Conner, Nicholas, Noah, Jenna, Donovan, Gina, Luke, Gabriel, Evan, Austin, Geoffrey, David; and her great-great-great niece, Allison Grace. She was also a mentor to her cousin Judy.
