The contest to create the winning poster for this year’s Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival is officially underway. The Vintage Festival board welcomes submissions to the competition and is accepting entries that arrive no later than Friday, July 11.
The winner of the contest will receive $500 and have his or her artwork displayed on the official Vintage Festival poster and T-shirt. Entries should be submitted to VOMVG Poster Contest, 158 W. Napa St., Sonoma 95476. Submissions should be in full color and in final poster form, and be designed to fit an 11 by 14 inch format. The artwork and design for the poster must be original and include the following text: Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival, Sonoma, California, September 26, 27, 28, 2008.
Poster artists should bear in mind that the theme of this year’s festival is “Rootstock: Blending Time and Tradition.” The motto refers to the Sonoma Valley’s grape growing heritage, the festival’s origins 111 years ago and, of course, to the seminal rock music festival, Woodstock, which took place in upstate New York during the summer of 1969.
