The hands that shape the city – literally – will be digging into a hot breakfast tomorrow as part of National Public Works Week.
Sonoma’s entire City Council, as well as City Manager Linda Kelly and Public Works Director Milenka Bates, will cook breakfast for the city’s public works crew starting at 7:30 a.m. Public Works staff will also be on hand at the Tuesday Night Farmers Market on May 20 from 5 to 7:30 p.m., and will hold an open-house at their new offices on Thursday, May 22 from 2 to 6 p.m, at 19728 Eighth Street East, Sonoma.
National Public Works Week honors those oft-unknown workers who provide communities across the country with safe drinking water, streets, parks and well-kept cemeteries.
