Dog owners looking to train their canines can look to Pets Lifeline for a bevy of summer classes that are being offered at their animal shelter at 19686 Eighth St. E.
Going on right now is a Family Dog Training Class for beginning-level dogs looking to learn the fundamentals of good manners. It runs through July 31. This class will also be offered starting Tuesday, July 22 and run for six weeks through August 26 from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. Two offerings will begin on Aug. 21 and run through Sept. 25, with one class starting at 5 p.m. and the other starting at 6:15 p.m.
Advanced classes will start on July 22 for dogs interested in learning tricks. The class runs through August 26 and is only available if the dogs have gone through the Level I beginners class. An Agility Basics class starts August 16 and runs through September 27 from 10 to 11 a.m.
Dogs owners are also welcome to bring their dogs in for the Canine Good Citizen Preparation class that runs every Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For the puppies, a socialization class is offered every Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. at Arroyo Veterinarian Hospital, 18501 Hwy. 12.
