David Ogaz
David Ogaz died peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital on June 23, 2008. He was born on June 1, 1951 in Albuquerque, N.M. He lived in Sonoma since 1960. He attended St. Francis Solano School, Sonoma Valley High and Sonoma State University. He married Elizabeth Siler in 1974. They later divorced. He joined his father in business at Valley Cycle Center on Napa Street, followed by Ogaz Equipment Supplies on Eighth Street East. Later, he launched his own business in computer graphics. Using his talents in computer graphic design, he was involved in several community organizations, volunteering as a print project consultant for Sonoma Salute to the Arts and project consultant for the Napa Valley Mustard Festival.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Stephanie, who passed away May 6, 2008. He is survived by six children, Kathryn, Mike, Matthew, Alex, Sara and Seric; his parents Lawrence and Barbara Ogaz; siblings Mary Ann Wirz (Norman), Teresa Ogaz, Ron Ogaz (Nancy), Judith Jones, Marti Mangiantini (John), Jeannette Tholcke (Richard), James Ogaz (Michelle), Karen Murray (Dave) and twenty-seven nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed.
A Mass will be held at St. Francis Solano Church on July 19 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to the David Ogaz fund, P.O. Box 2124, Sonoma, CA 95476, or a charity of your choice.
