Barbara Ann Dunn, age 66, passed away Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008, surrounded by family, in Redding Calif. Barbara was a 24 year resident of Sonoma Valley, retiring to Redding in 1999, after leaving her position as executive assistant to Margrit Biever Mondavi. Born in Chicago Illinois, Barbara and her husband of 45 years, Richard Dunn moved to California in 1968, to pursue Rich’s teaching career and to raise their three sons, Michael of Grants Pass ORE, Richard of Lodi and Sean of Sonoma.
Barbara is survived by her husband Richard, her son Michael Dunn, his wife Linda, Rich Dunn, his wife Laura and Sean Dunn and his wife Stephanie. Barbara also leaves behind her five beloved grandchildren, Connor, Cameron, Austin, True and Alexandra Dunn. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews throughout the United States, having been blessed by a special relationship with her niece Lisa Dunn of Concord. Barbara will be remembered for her witty sense of humor, her deep and abiding love of her children and grandchildren, her competitive nature and her yo-yo champion status. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
A memorial mass for Barbara, will be held on Friday, Aug. 8 at 10 am at Our Lady of Mercy Parish in Redding, Calif. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
