Sonoma’s Dane Cameron continued his impressive rookie season in the Atlantic Championship.

Sonoma’s Dane Cameron continued his impressive rookie season in the Atlantic Championship with his fifth top-five finish of the season in Trois-Rivieres, Canada, on Sunday, Aug. 17.
The finish continued a trend of strong performances by the 19-year-old.  Cameron, driving for Genoa Racing, is currently ranked sixth in Atlantic Series points standings, and he’s just 12 points behind his fifth-place competitor.
“I feel that we’ve stepped up to the next level of competitiveness, and we’ll be a force to be reckoned with for the rest of the season,” said Cameron, after finishing second at Road America earlier this month.
The Sonoma High School graduate earned his Mazda-sponsored drive in the 2008 Atlantic Championship courtesy of the MAZDASPEED Motorsports Driver Development Ladder after winning the 2007 Star Mazda Championship.
Cameron returns to action Sept. 13-14 at New Jersey Motorsports Park.  For more information and Cameron’s latest results, visit www.cameronmotorsport.com.
