Set in the Sonoma Barracks on the Plaza, Noche de Luna, the annual fundraiser for La Luz center, offered a little slice of Mexico while raising more than $170,000. The evening’s festivities included traditional Mexican food, margaritas, live mariachi music, piñatas and fortune-telling. The auction, hosted by Bob Rice and Sheila Whitney, boasted an array of prizes- from wine to exotic vacations. Funds raised at the Sunday, Sept. 21 event benefit La Luz Center, which is dedicated to improving the quality of life in Sonoma Valley by assisting Valley immigrants with meeting basic needs, such as food, clothing, shelter, jobs and education.
