Obituaries

Joseph Charles Kauth’s struggle with cancer ended peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008 at his home in Sonoma, his loving family and friends at his side. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., he was best known to his friends as “Brooklyn Joe.” He recently retired from the North Marin Water District after 27 years of loyal service.
The last two years of his life were shared with the love of his life, his support and his heart, his wife Danielle. He is also survived by his children, Johana and Joseph Kauth; and by his grandchildren, Johnathan Joseph and Miranda Keller. He is also survived by his extended family and numerous friends.  Joe will never be forgotten.
Friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 1 p.m. at The El Verano Inn, 705 Laurel Avenue, El Verano. Arrangements under the direction of Duggan’s Mission Chapel, Mission Cremation Service, Sonoma.

Jessie Maree MooreheadJessie Maree Moorehead, 86, of Sonoma, died Nov. 18, 2008 at home in Sonoma. Jessie was born and raised in Cohasset, Mass. She also lived in Boston, New York and San Francisco. She and her late husband Eric moved to Sonoma in 1981. She is survived by four stepchildren, seven step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. She is also survived by a sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews in Massachusetts. Private inurnment was held at sea outside the Golden Gate by Mission Cremation Service under the direction of Duggan’s Mission Chapel, Sonoma.
