Submitted Photo. Aaron Marcus WengenWENGEN, Aaron Marcus, 83, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2008 in Sonoma. Aaron was born on August 30, 1925 to Izzy and Birdie Wengen in Petaluma, CA. He was a lifelong resident of Sonoma County and lived in the City of Sonoma for over 60 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army during WWII. He was a nursing co-ordinator who worked at the Sonoma Developmental Center for 35 years. Aaron liked to bowl and achieved a “300” game a few times.
He is predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, the late Norma Wengen.
Aaron is survived by: his loving children: Betty (and husband James) Gilliam, of Sonoma; Robert (and wife Yolanda) Wengen, of Highland, CA; and Mary (and husband Glen) Giusti, of Santa Rosa, CA; his grandchildren: Stacy Marie (and husband Gary) Simmonson, of Sonoma; Heidi (and husband Danny) Mefford, of Highland, CA; Shannon (and wife Ami) Giusti, of Santa Rosa, CA; and Riana Giusti, of Berkeley, CA. He is also survived by his great grandchildren: Parker and Nathan Simmonson and Andrea and Ashleigh Mefford.
At his request, no formal services will be held. Private scattering at sea will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Aaron’s honor be made to the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars, Post #183, P.O. Adele Rose Milani Bruschera, 96, passed away on Nov. 21, 2008 in Sonoma. Adele was the wife of the late Arthur Bruschera and the loving mother of Marian Heck, Lois Zambonin, Arthur E. and Paul Bruschera. She was the mother-in-law of Joseph Heck, Bruno Zambonin, Carmen and Maureen Bruschera. Adele was the adored grandmother of James, Anthony, Thyra, Julee, Karen and Marc, and the great-grandmother of 10. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and a devoted caregiver, Emily.
Adele was totally dedicated to her family; they meant everything to her. She was a homemaker, a master cook and a very warm and gracious hostess. She was a 36-year resident of Sonoma and a native of San Francisco.
Friends and family attended a funeral Mass at St. Francis Catholic Church on Tuesday, Nov. 25. Entombment was held at the family crypt at St. Francis Cemetery, Sonoma. Donations to the charity of your choice are preferred. Arrangements under the direction of Duggan’s Mission Chapel of Sonoma.

Elver Thomas Pearson, of Sonoma, died peacefully in his sleep on Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease.  In his last days he was surrounded by family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Beverly Pearson; their children, Sara (Adam), Mart Elver, Lindley (Mary), Philip Trout (Mary), Phyllis Trout (Brian), Stanley Trout (Sue); and their grandchildren Dustin, Amanda, Timothy, Eleanor, Olivia, Julia, Nicole, Kaya, Liam, Sam, Maggie, Preston, and Alexis; and one great-grandchild, Braedon. He is also survived by his sister, Muriel Stragis of Pennsylvania.
El was born in Newark, N.J. on June 20, 1928 and attended prep school at St. Benedict’s. He graduated with honors from the Johns Hopkins University in Minnesota in 1950 and obtained his law degree from the University of Minnesota. He was proud of his career in the insurance industry, which included positions as general manager of the American Insurance Association and the Surety Association of America, and vice president and general counsel of USF&G in Baltimore.
Bev and El moved to Sonoma from the East Coast in 1987. In addition to his family, El loved golf, theater, Proust and his many wonderful dogs. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in his name and honor be sent to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Ste. 1509, New York, NY 10018, or to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, Bethesda, MD 20814.
A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church of Sonoma, 252 W. Spain St., in the latter part of January. Arrangements under the direction of Duggan’s Mission Chapel, Mission Cremation Service, Sonoma.
