Bruce Willis to be honored at Sonoma International Film Festival

bruce_willisKevin McNeely, chairman of the Sonoma International Film Society, announced today that actor and musician Bruce Willis, star of “12 Monkeys,” the “Die Hard” series, “The Fifth Element,” “The Sixth Sense” and the forthcoming “What Just Happened?” among other films, will be honored at the Sonoma International Film Festival (formerly the Sonoma Valley Film Festival) next spring.

The actor and occasional bluesman (he plays harmonica in a band) will be presented with the society’s “Lifetime Achievement Award” at the festival, which enters its twelfth year bringing films to the Valley, from April 1 to 5, 2009.

“My schedule is a little hectic these days,” said Willis, who is currently directing his first feature film in Louisiana. “But by hook or by crook, I will be in Sonoma for your festival in April. I am honored to receive this award.”

Willis’ cinematic work will be showcased as part of the festival’s tribute program, which will include a party as well as a ceremony.

Passes for the 2009 Sonoma International Film Festival are currently on sale at a 20 percent discount until Feb. 28, 2009. To purchase passes, visit sonomafilmfest.org/pages/09passes.
