Robert Wolfenden, born in Montreal, Canada on May 21, 1943, succumbed to cancer after a courageous battle on Jan. 10, 2009.
He was a longtime Sonoma resident and the loving husband of Tina Wolfenden and son of Rose and John Wolfenden. He is survived by his children and grandchildren: Laurence, Joseph, Stephen, Brittany, Charles, Enrica, Louis, Rebecca, Christopher, Dave, Helen, Samuel, Zachary, Ryan, Cristina and Rosemarie.
Robert attended McGill University in Montreal and graduated from St. Mary’s in Moraga. He was a retired computer system analyst for PG&E in San Francisco. He moved to Sonoma from Marin 28 years ago and after retirement, he became a substitute teacher at Altimira and Sonoma Valley High School. He obtained his real estate brokers license and became owner of Prime Real Estate. Robert was an active volunteer and past member of the Rotary Club, the SVH Auxiliary and a recognized “soroptimister.”
Robert is loved by many for his kindness and loving care. He was always quick to smile and master of the one-line jokes. He will be missed by so many who loved him dearly.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 17, at noon at St. Francis Solano Church; graveside services to follow at Mountain Cemetery.
