Heather’s Secrets:
I am a huge sap and cry every time I see most romantic movies (even those I have seen way too many times). I love my mac and cheese with ketchup and black pepper. I love to travel, but I’m always happy to come home to Sonoma. I love my sheets and often try to work from bed in the morning, just to extend the bliss. I am already looking forward to this year’s Burning Man.

Professional Advice:

When buying linens, be wary of the thread count listed on packaging and the country of origin–which is often only where the majority of money was spent and sometimes that can just be labeling and packaging. High thread counts are not necessarily better. The quality of bed sheets is about the quality of the fiber, finishing and sewing (the Italians still are weaving the best fibers and are the best finishers by far). Negotiate with your laundry to launder in cold water with a dye and perfume free detergent and press your sheets (no starch). It is completely worth it, often costs less than two martinis and the pleasure lasts much longer.
