Delphine Katherine Maggiolo

Delphine Katherine Maggiolo, 91, passed away peacefully in Sonoma on March 23, 2009, with her daughter Paulette, Michael Bartlett and Pat Ray at her side. She lived robustly until natural age-related causes took her quickly. She was born on Sept. 11, 1917 in Santa Rosa to Al and Elizabeth Babbini. Delphine moved to Marin County at the age of 20 and lived there until 1997 when she moved to Sonoma. Recently she had happily made Sonoma Hills Retirement Center her home. She loved the activities, music and companionship that this new home provided her. Delphine worked at and retired from Montgomery Ward Department Store in Corte Madera. She expressed her warm personality working in the fashion department for a number of years.
Delphine’s husband, James Maggiolo and her daughter, Joyce Ertman preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving daughter, Paulette; her son-in-law, Mike Ertman; grandchildren: Curtis DuMonte, of Nevada and Kerry Kappenman, of Belgium; six great-grandchildren; and her sisters: Alma Goldener and Beverly Miller.
A visitation was held on Thursday, March 26 at Duggan’s Mission Chapel, 525 W. Napa St. Friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday, March 27 starting at 2:30 p.m. at Duggan’s, with a Funeral Mass at 3 p.m. at St. Francis Solano Church, 300 W. Napa St. Interment will take place at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 30 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in San Rafael. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Delphine’s honor can be made to Hospice by the Bay, 190 W. Napa St., Sonoma, Calif. 95476.
