Sharyn Ann Newmyer
Sharyn Ann Newmyer

Sharyn Ann Newmyer, born April 9, 1947, passed peacefully away on the morning of May 12, 2009 in Sonoma. She was 62. Born in Pittsburgh, Penn. to parents John and Lillimae Newmyer, Sharyn attended Penn Hills High before moving to New York City, where she spent time as a fashion model and where she met her husband Ken Martini. The couple moved to Point Reyes, Calif. where they had their only child.
Marital bliss was not to be theirs, however, and after separating, Sharyn moved around a bit before settling in Sonoma in 1985.
Sharyn loved interacting with people, and cherished the people she met while working for Good Day Sunshine, Shining Examples, Out To Lunch and Goodwill. In 1989, Sharyn was diagnosed with cancer. She fought and survived. Six years later the cancer returned. Again she beat it. When the cancer came back for the last time it took her swiftly. Through all of this Sharyn was surrounded and aided by some really wonderful people. Her family would like to thank all of her friends and caregivers, the people who never gave up on her, the people she called her angels.
Sharyn is survived her son Donovan and by her brother Jack. We will carry her memory with us to the end of our days.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Duggan’s Mission Chapel, 525 W. Napa St., on Friday, May 22 at 11 a.m. Private inurnment.
