The large cauldron used to cook kettlecorn caught fire at the Tuesday night Farmers Market, completely destroying the awning and scaring shoppers and picnickers at the market.
The fire broke out at approximately 7:04 p.m. Vendors at nearby stalls jumped into action and bystander Jon Curry was able to douse the flames with a fire extinguisher before the fire department arrived.
