Sonoma Charter School welcomes four new board members

At the first board meeting of the new school year, Sonoma Charter School welcomed four new members to its governing board. The new board members include parents Lynn Curry and Rob Houghton, community member Tito Sasaki, and Charter school’s 4th and 5th grade teacher Helén Johansson.

The Charter school board comprises a total of seven members: two community members, three parents and two teachers. The new members join Alden Brosseau, community representative; Stacie Hedley, parent; and Jim Caruso, the school’s teacher of math and science for 7th and 8th grades.

The school director attends board meetings but is not a board member and as such carries no vote. Board members serve two-year terms. There are no term limits. Board meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 6:45 p.m. in Room 8 at the Charter School. The next board meeting will be held on September 14.
