December 1 is recognized as World AIDS Awareness Day and for the past 21 years, Sheana Davis has held a candlelight vigil in front of Sonoma Plaza to honor friends whom she and her daughter, Karina, have lost to AIDS. At Davis’ store, The Epicurean Connection, she has displayed two AIDS quilts and set up an altar for people to display photos of loved ones. Also, on December 3, the store will host a non-profit night for Food for Thought, Sonoma County AIDS Food Bank with complimentary appetizers from 6 to 8 p.m. Twenty-five percent of sales that night will be donated to Food for Thought and a donation jar will be available all month as well as a collection bin for non-perishable food.
